10/6/2016 0 Comments Dan & Andrea : Lakeside blissIf you've never been to Hope, Idaho...I highly recommend you take the drive. It's stunningly beautiful. Hope is a small town on Lake Pend Oreille, and Dan and Andrea chose to say their vows at Beyond Hope Resort lakeside. We took photos before the ceremony at the equally gorgeous Clark Fork Lodge about 15 minutes away, and with the stunning backdrop of orchard, mountains and pond. Oh! And the owner of the resort parked his beautiful car on the lawn for our pleasure. It couldn't have been a more beautiful evening for the wedding, complete with gorgeous sunset. Just lovely.

The creative process for this shoot really started with the lake property at Driftwood Point. This rustic wooded lake property on beautiful Lake C'DA in Idaho has a very modern Pacific NW feel. I just loved the idea of the handsome lumberjack sort of look that has been very trendy right now for men in a wedding. How rugged and sexy! I loved brainstorming what kind of bride this man would wed...a woodnymph-a romantic, beautiful girl. The flowers would be lush and bright with fern and succulents, the staging romantic and glam combined with rustic elements. We incorporated driftwood and some of the pink rocks from the lakeshore on the cake (trimmed with Pink Himalayan Sea Salt!). I absolutely loved how everything came together. I had an amazing team: Florals by Dragon Floral Design; MUA Julie Farley at The Make-up Studio; Hair by MattieKay Tull for House of POp; Jewelry by Pounder's Jewelry; Menswear by Jos A Banks; Gown by Bridal Collections; Cake by Batch Bakeshop; Paper by Mango Ink; Rentals by A to Z Rentals and The Attic Vintage Rentals; models Savana Fredericks and Sam Ouimet.
I shot these photos with the AMAZING model, Emily Erickson-who I had been admiring for a while and was thrilled to bits when she agreed to model for me. When the team of talented folks all said yes to me on this silly vision of mine? Well, I could hardly wait to get clicking. When can we do more?
This bride loves indie music festivals, mixing vintage with modern, and being a bit bold when it comes to her wedding style. She is a cashmere kitten in high-heeled boots. She is a viking princess. Strong, beautiful and ready to write her own lyrics.
